How do you choose a leather working tool?

The best way for a novice to get advice like this is to ask someone with experience. You should check out some leather working websites and ask around on the forum. I'm sure there are plenty of people that can help point you in the right direction.

I like mine dual sided. One flat edged side and one sharp or coarse edged side. It helps me work with the leather based on the needs of the project.

Well just choose something that has a sharp and has a dull flat surface. You can find more info on leather tools on google.
