Using a watch with a second hand find your pulse on your wrist or neck and count how many beats happen during any 10 second period. Take the number of beats and multiply by 6. The resulting number will be the number of beats per minute also known as your heart rate.
To check your pulse, place your middle fingers on the area above your wrist just beside the bone. When you can feel the beat, count how many beats within a period of time ie. 30 seconds. Using a stopwatch is ideal.
