How do you change the beneficiary for a U.S. Savings Bond?

You need to have the bond reissued. Complete form PD F 4000 (get it from Treasury web site or a bank). Fill it out and send it in.

You need to have the bond reissued, but it still keeps the original date and interest earned. There's information on the treasurydirect website to tell you how to do this.

You can sign off on a new beneficiary for a savings bond and then have the new beneficiary sign off on this as well. You might have an attorney present to draft up a change of beneficiary status form and have it notarized as well. This will suffice to change.

I think you will have to look it up online. or consult a lawyer about it, the lawyer could tell you if you can change it or not.
