Spurges usually like shade and rich, well-drained soil. Some do tolerate full to partial sun. They are generally used as a spreading ground cover. If they are too clumped together or end up too damp, they can develop spots and root rot. They do well with a slow release fertilizer that is applied carefully to avoid the leaves.
