Give your dieffenbachia strong diffuse light (not direct sunlight) and water when it dries out. It's called "dumbcane" because eating the leaves will cause your tongue to swell.

It is also known as "dumb cane" because of it can make the person's throat to expand or increase in size and might lose one's speech if he/she accidentally eat the foliage of the plant. It needs enough sunlight, warm temperature, humidity, and water.
