Kentia palms are very hardy. They do well even in low light levels, though they do best in medium indirect light. Do not over-water your palm--keep half of the soil dry.

Since this is a high temperture tree, you are in luck if you live in the South since this tree works very well with heat and little water. You can do not have to worry about additional maintenance. You do however have to trim down the palm leaves during the winter months.
