Assuming the room is rectangular, you would multiply the length by the width. For example, if your rectangular room is 12 feet wide and 15 feet long, then the area would be 12 X 15 = 180 square feet. The best practice is to measure from the longest and the widest parts of the room.

You would just multiply the length of the room by the width of the room. You could also check the floor plan for the house if possible.
