I would like to build an attic in my closet in order to store decorations.

First you would need to stud the wall with several 2x4s that would outline the size of the room you want. Then attach the drywall to the studs, fill the nail holes, and paint.

You can't build an attic in your closet. An attic is a space up above the ceiling on the highest floor of your house.

You must have a tall closet first. Then enclose the top portion by nailing in braces along the walls, then make a floor panel with a door in it.
