How do you build a skateboard ramp?

SPAUSA is a good source, but their design page is currently undergoing a re-write. They do still have up some "lessons learned" on mistakes other parks made. (see citydepartments.html) In most cases, you will want to contact the group that will insure your park first, they will have design guidelines.

If you are not a contractor and you want to build one the first thing to do is draw a plano-gram of the ramp you are building. Buy as much wood as needed and hopefully you have the tools and make sure you build it at a 90 degree angle.

Use 2x4's, 3/4" plywood for the sides and 3/8" plywood for the curve. Use a half circle drawing tool to get a true curve. Cut curve with a skil saw.
