How do you add a drop shadow in PhotoShop?

First you select the layer of the object to want to add the drop shadow to, double click it( An inspector will pop-up) select the add drop shadow option.

In the layers palette, select layer that has the text or object you want to add a shadow. Click the layer style button at the bottom of the layers palette and choose drop shadow. You can change the blending, opacity, the angle of light, and the distance of the shadow.
