Parakeets fertilize their eggs when paired together of course. They get to know one another and may be encouraged by a nest box nearby to fornicate. The male bird climbs onto the female and rubs the underneath of his tail onto hers. A liquid will then be released and the sperm will be rubbed into the females vent.

A male and female parakeet must mate. The male's sperm enters the female's body and then form into an egg. A female can only lay one egg at a time.

Parakeets have sex just like any other bird. This leads to fertilization of the eggs which the female then incubates and nests with until they hatch.

A parakeet can fertilize its egg in a couple of ways, the standard way is having intercourse with the opposite sex while the more uncommon method is to regurgitate its food and then consume it a second time. It is often that a parakeet in captivity will use these means to fertilize its eggs.

That is the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time! It takes a male and female to produce fertilized eggs and they need to mate in the usual manner. The regurgitation is just part of the courtship display.  add a comment
