Well, to use shrink wrap all you have to do is simply wrap up the areas that you would like to wrap. You have to make sure that the height and length is measured across neatly. Shrink wrap is a great way to prevent damage to your furniture and items.

You can use shrink wrap to prevent your items from moving around to much. A good use would be to wrap tables lamps with it.

For the most part it is just used to group objects or to hold an object with a lot of pieces together. It can also be used to keep boxes together during transit by holding them.

Shrink wrap is pretty basic. The only thing you shouldn't use it on are things like house plants or anything that wrinkling can harm because as it gets smaller it will crush whats inside.

Use shrink to hold things together while packing and also, use shrink wrap inside the moving van to join the entire contents inside into one cohesive unit. This will limit shifting and moving of contents.

The plastic that is on the roll isn't like typical shrink wrap. It doesn't require heating and instead it is merely rolled around the furniture. Get the kind that is on a roll with a bar or handles sticking out the end. You just roll it out and cover the furniture. Works best on upholstered pieces.

Plastic/"Shrink"-wrap keeps objects from shifting while being transported. For instance: Stack mixed-items on a wooden-pallet, Wrap plastic-wrap around them, and then double-secure the load with ratcheting-straps. Often "plastic"-wrap is used rather than "heat/shrink"-wrap. Moderate-heat from a hair-dryer/hot-air gun shrinks "Heat/Shrink"-wrap tighter in size. Re-Usable Canvas/Plastic-tarps & Ratcheting-straps are more environmentally-friendly.

You can wrap your stuff with newspaper and then put the shrink wrap around it. It will make sure the paper is tight and won't come off.
