The optical audio port should come from the back side of your television, simply connect it into the main port and then connect an additional devices you would like to split it to.

These are just bilateral directional speaker adapters. You'll want to position them so that the sound waves will diverge but slightly overlap.

You hook your speakers up via this speaker plug by plugging it into the green audio port. Most speakers will work once connected and after your computer recognizes the plugged in hardware. Avoid using the red port this is for a speaker will cause major feedback if used. This should allow you split the digital audio between two devices now.

An optical audio splitter uses high quality wire coated in premium CV metal to imporve the sound and responsiveness of your system. The splitter will allow you to share the wire with up to 8 speakers. While you can go more than 8, sound quality will probably suffer if the wire is spread too thin.

You plug the speaker plug (a 3.5mm standard male audio connector) into the GREEN audio port on the back of the computer. The red port is for a microphone, do not connect the speakers to it. Most speakers will work once connected without any driver software specific to the speakers.

An optical splitter takes an input signal, and splits it into two identical output signals. To do this, run an optical cable from the source you are outputting from, to the input on the splitter. Then run an optical cable from each of the outputs to their respective components.

Using an optical audio splitter allows you to connect one input source and split the signal to two home theater receiving devices. For instance, you can send the signal from DVD player and and connect it to both your surround sound receiver and a digital video recorder.
