How do I troubleshoot a 3-way switch that is not working?

Better to replace the switch with a new one because it might have coverad the number of oparations that it was made for or there might be a over load.

A 3 way switch has four pole one common and 3outway poles. When we connect a supply to the common pole and put the switch in three position we get the supply through the different outway poles in each position. if the out put not get the switch is faulty

I think there is a mistake in the wiring that is the reason it is not working so first of all you have to check the wiring how you have done check the diagram which you will find on the switch box go through the diagram and then check how you have fixed you will find the problem.

Really all you need to figure out is if you have the correct point screw and two travelers. Also need to make sure your light is getting a neutral.

Check the switches one by one weather it is working or not for the three switches. then find the faulted switch and change it.
