You are going to want to go to the bottom of the radiator and open the petcock, It will drain the fluid and then you will need to undo the hoses and the bolts holding it to the brackets.

It is veryt easy. Once you get the top part of the fan shroud off. Place the catch pan underneath the radiator. Loosen the hose clamp screw on the bottom-most hose and Slide the hose clamp out and pull the hose off and Drain the radiator fluid. Remove the upper radiator hose. Remove the radiator-to-frame bolts. Pull the radiator straight up.

This is a very dangerous task for a novice. It might be best to check with your local auto motive expert if you don't feel quite up to the task. First start by killing your engine and make sure the engine is cool before you begin. The Radiator will be held in place by several strong bolts. You need wrenches.

You are going to want to drain the coolant from the radiator and then you can take your hoses off. Once you get the hoses off you can uninstall the bolts holding it on. You can then install the new radiator.

Remove radiator cap. Open radiator drain valve. Drain coolant, close the drain valve. Remove upper/lower radiator shroud. Disconnect upper/lower hoses from radiator. Unplug condenser and radiator fans. Unfasten the fans mounting bolts. Detach oil cooler. Unplug electrical sensors. Disconnect reservoir. Unfasten brackets over top of radiator. Lift radiator straight up.

You can go get a manual for the car at an auto parts store, the manual may tell you how to fix it. Or you might have to take it in to have it fixed by a professional. They would know how to take it off. Or look it up online.

This is a very complex task that I can't describe in detail here. Also I don't know what year of truck you have and the process will vary from year to year. I would recommend looking online for information and possible purchasing a service or repair manual to use as a guide.

Look at bottom of radiator to open petcock. Flush radiator and remove hoses. Plug hoses to keep dirt from getting into it. Unscrew radiator from mounting after unbolting it. Remove old one and put new one in. Rebolt down and put hoses back on it.

The radiator works by flowing fresh air from the outside of the engine bay...That maybe how it works. But I still did'nt answer the question...I don't even know how because I don't have a GMC Sonoma but you should take the radiator of a GMC Sonoma from its engine...
