How do I substitute cell contents in the formula in Excel?

Choosing the cell to put the formula in, click inside the function box. Type "=SUBSTITUTE(text, "old_text", "new_text", instance_num). " "Text" is the text you want to subsitute. "Old_text" is the text to replace, "new_text" is the text to replace it with. "Instance_num" is the instance of the text you want replaced.

Click on the cell that you want to change the contents of. At the top of the screen you can change the content or formula of the cell.
