The expression is 'Buon Compleanno' (literally 'Good Birthday' but the proper equivalent of our 'Happy Birthday'). You might want to add 'e molti altri' (and many more).

Buon compleanno is how you say happy birthday in Italian. It is similar to how you say it in Spanish, "Feliz Cumpleaños", with the feliz meaning happy and cumpleaños meaning to complete (cumplir) a year (año), but in Italian the buon means "good". Tanti Auguri is another way to say happy birthday in Italian.
