How do I run a double wall stove pipe through a roof?

Establish the point to where the pipe will connect to. Use a plumb bob suspended from the ceiling to the center of the connection. On the interior side of the roof scribe a circle 1" larger all around where the pipe will penetrate the roof. Using a sawsall cut out the circle.

The most imporant thing you need to do is to place fire proof insulation around the pipe at all points of contact or you will burn your house down.

you need to make sure that the pipe will come out on the slope of the roof. also, it needs to be between the studs in the roof so you can make a clean cut.

Running any kind of pipe through a roof is not complicated. Make sure you aren't cutting through any major joists or braces then cut a whole in the exact size you need for the stove pipe. Feed the stove pipe through the hole, brace it with a roof flange, tack down the flange, tar to seal it, and cover.
