The best way is to hook up a code reader and use the rest function through the tool. Or you can unplug the batter for a few minutes.

Go and get an OBD tester and you can hook it up and reset all the codes. It will take some time but you will be able to reset the ECM.

The best way to reset the ecm on a Toyota is to get the OBD tester and reset all the codes. It can only take a few minutes and it is easy but the OBD tester can cost you between ninety and three hundred dollars at Harbor Freight. It is the easiest way.

The best way would be using a diagnostic tool. However if you do not have one then you can unhook the battery for a minute. This will erase your radio setting and could interfere with your anti-theft if equipped.

Simply disconnect the battery for fifteen to thirty minutes. This should cycle the codes and reset the Electronic control module. Another alternative is to take it to a local parts house and they can reset it.

though this will not work to pass inspection, you must disconnect the battery for twenty four hours which should reset the on-board computer.

Try disconnecting the battery for five or so minutes. If it's newer than a 1999 you may have to take it to Toyota, since a reset requires a special scanner.

Well unless you have a code reader or other diagnostic tool to do that you can probably just pull of one of the battery terminals for a few seconds. This should reset it along with everything else like your stereo.
