Torsion bars act as teh springs in the suspension. It's a fairly involved job involving removing the wheel, brake, and essentially disassembling the suspension. It will throw off your alignment. I suggest having your dealership or another qualified mechanic who has the proper tools do the work. It's a relatively dangerous job.

Torsion bar replacement depends on the specific vehicle and will require an alignment after installation of the new bar. The car should be securely on jack stands with all weight off of the suspension. On most vehicles, the torsion bar can be removed by unbolting the rear height adjustment bracket and sliding the bar out.

The each side of the bar is identified by a letter. In addition, the outer end of each torsion bar has 31 splines and the inner end has 30 splines. The torsion bars have a dot stamped onto their outer ends to assist in end identification and installation reference.

Well it can't be replaced with a liquor bar- no drinking and driving. You might want to consider an exercise bar. It would also help you lose weight. However if cost is not a factor a topless juice bar would be an ideal solution. Healthy and always the subject of conversation and envy.

The process is different for every car. Usually the bar is unbolted and slide out but sometimes components must be moved. Look online for detailed guides for your car.

Elevate the front of the car, safely, and remove one tire. Remove/cut the stabilizer links from each end of the bar at the lower control arms. If you live in the north it's cutting is often the only way. Remove the two mounts that connect the bar to the frame. The bar will slide out with ease.

You need to take it in to have it looked at. That would be the best way to fix it. Or you can go to the auot parts store and buy a manual for the car, tell them the make and model of the car.

Don't try to replace that yourself, call a professional. If you don't know any places in your local area that will do it, then drive to somewhere where they will.
