To replace your distributor cap you need to go to a parts store and obtain the correct replacement cap. Then you carefully label each spark plug on the old distributor cap as to their location. If possible remove old cap without removing spark plug wires. Replace with new cap.

Most distributor caps can be removed using a screw driver or by detaching some sort of clip. Remove cap and move it to the side. Install new cap and secure it. Remove wires one at a time from old cap and install into correct position on new cap.

Remove the spark plug wires from the distributor cap. then unbolt it and it should pop off. If this doesn't work get the hayes repair guide and see what that reccomends. it cost 20 dollars and you can get it at a parts store. it goes in depth on how to repair your vehicle

Distributor caps are pretty simple to replace. You need to remove the spark pug wires. Be sure to label them so you know how to connect them to the new cap. Then simply remove the old distributor cap and install the new one. Most caps simply snap on though some require a screw or bolt.
