You will probably need to replace a whole section of pipe. Usually you cut out the bad section and use fittings to fit the new piece of pipe to the pre existing ones. Make sure you turn off the water before you begin cutting on the pipe.

If a joint is broken, clean the ends with sandpaper, wipe clean and use PVC cement. If there is a cracked pipe you will need to cut away the cracked section with a saw and replce with a new piece. Use 2 straight joints to connect the pipe inline.
