I would paint the walls brown and put a faux finish of gold over it. You can do this by sponge, rag or plastic. Do a sample. Asian's use alot of red and this would be a good accent color for accessories.

You should paint the walls in the brown and then buy a stencil with an Asian design and paint it in a pattern across the walls in gold paint.
