The guy has to be interested in you first. You should playfully flirt with him, but not so much that it seems desperate or clingy. After you flirt, stop giving him as much attention for a day or two so that he has time to miss you.

Do not call him, do not send him notes or text him. Give him some space and time to see what life is like without you.
