The Kenmore lines of sewing machines are famous for this problem. You will need to open up the compartment above the needle and you will find that the thread has jammed the mechanism. Remove it and the feed dogs will lower properly.

It depends on the model of the Kenmore. There should be a lever on the back of the free arm bed on the base of the machine. You should turn this lever to the left in order to lower the feed dogs. This should be labeled in your instruction booklet.

To lower a feed dog on a Kenmore first one must ensure the thread cache is full then you must thread it through the feed dog and the needle itself.

Depends on the age of your sewing machine. Usually there is a knob on the side with a picture that looks like a tic tac toe board that will lower them.

It depends on what model you have. Consult your users manual. It will have all the information you need for running your sewing machine. If you don't have the manual, try contacting Kenmore directly for assistance. Some Kenmore models have a lever on the back that when pushed lowers the feed dog.
