You really and immediately need to read your paperwork to see if this is possible. Your best recourse, before taking delivery is to call the store, they'll work with you.

Look at the contract and see what provisions are made for cancelling it. In some states you can cancel within a specific period of time.

There may be a sstate statute allowing you to rescind a purchase within a "breathing period", or the contract's terms may allow a "breathing period" in which to cancel without penalty. Absent that, you can still "legally" cancel any contract, but will likely have to forfeit part/all of the purchase price - as set forth in the contract's terms.

You must abide by the terms of the contract which should stipulate how you can end said agreement with the company from which you bought this dishwasher - read the agreement.

Contract law applies. Review the contract to determine what options are available for canceling the agreement. The contract should have a clause the details under what circumstances the contract can be canceled, including information about notification, time frame and so forth, OR there will be language regarding the binding nature of the agreement.

Contracts can not be canceled unless they were written under duress, fraud, or illegal conditions. You need to renegotiate with the other party. Or try small claims court.

You should read your contract carefully. Some contracts have clauses that allow you to cancel within a certain amount of time of the deal. If it does, I would just follow the procedures in the contract. Otherwise, you may not be able to cancel unless your local law provides for cancellation.
