You could treat the stone with nitric acid, which should dissolve all other metals. Gold can be dissolved only in a mixture of nitric acid/hydrochloric acid. Another better, method is to come in touch with an analytic laboratory to atom adsorption spectroscopy. For that you need smaller amounts and it is safer.

You can bring your rock to any respected jeweler. They can test whether or not something contain gold. They might charge you money to perform the test though.
