How do I install a metal roof over a shingle roof?

First put a wood base on top of the shingled roof and use wood screws to attach the base at each corner. Second, place a metal edge around the perimeter of the roof. Third, attach metal roofing sheets and attach them with metal wood screws. Make sure to overlap the metal sheets so as to prevent possible leakage.

Scrape the shingles off the roof and then lay the metal over top of the wood and line it all up straight and then screw the metal down .

This is not recommended. If you do it you are on your own. To properly install a metal rroff the shingles need to be removed.
