Disconnect battery before attempting. First attach the green wire connection, distributor ignition system. Next, connect the green wire to the negative side of the ignition coil. Wiring diagrams are found in owners manuels. Wires: Black is ground, Red supplies power, White is instrument lamp. The green is specific to the ignition and engine.

There are four wires that need to be connected. (1) Red - 12 V when ignition is ON. (2) Black - ground. (3) White - 12 V w/ ignition ON or illumination on the head light switch. (4) Green - To the Tach test connector or tach test on the coil.

It should be pretty simple. Once you mount it you will need to find a wire that has an rpm signal and tap into it.
