Change your transmission fluid and filter. Substitute one quart of Lucas trans fluid for 1 of the quarts of Dexron.

In order to fix your truck you are going to have to rebuild or replace your transmission assembly assuming that you have an automatic transmission.
Answer by chippine (46)
Try changing filter and fluid. A clogged filter does not allow proper fluid flow and will cause your truck to shift hard.

First off u need to check your transmission fluid level. While your truck is running check the level like you would check oil level. If it is fine then you should probably drain your fluid and add new stuff with lucas oil transmission fix.

The first logical and least expensive options would be to deal with the fluid. Drain and replace this replacing any gaskets and screens.

Change you transmission fluid and change the filter. Should that not help try to get it flushed or using a different fluid.
