How do I give a vinegar bath to a dog?

He is really stinky, and I have heard that apple cider vinegar is helpful.

Apply full strength white vinegar to the dog's fur, making sure to scrub him against the grain of his fur so you manage to eliminate all odor. Let him sit for five to ten minutes and then rinse him off. Vinegar baths are often used to treat skunk spray odor.

You can put the vinegar in a spray bottle for easier application. Another option would be to put the dog in the bathtub and sponge the vinegar on. Just make sure you don't use the sponge for anything else!

The vinegar is usually done as an after bath rinse to help clean the fur and limit skin infections. The rinse is sprayed onto the fur with a plant mister. The ratio for the spray is 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar to a quart of water. Keep out of eyes.

Wash the dog with pet shampoo first. Then mix equal parts vinegar to water, bathe the dog and rinse off well.

First, wash your dog with a mild shampoo, like you usually would, rinse. Then wash with equal parts water, and apple cider vinegar, make sure you mix them, the vinegar must be diluted. Then rinse with cold water. Or, use 1 cup vinegar, 10 cups water, and dip a towel in it, and rub your dog down.

Bathe your dog with a mild PET shampoo and rinse throroughly with tepid water. Mix apple cider vinegar 1:1 with tap water. Pour the solution over the dog and work it into his coat. Rinse well. You can also put the solution in a spray bottle and use it daily to repel (not kill) fleas.

Does he always stink like this even after you give him regular showers? If yes than he should be seen by a vet because he might have an underlying problem (a skin problem?). If it is only a one time thing, pour the vinegar on a pad, rub the dog.

Tomato juice or lemon juice will do a better job for you but all you do with the vinegar is put it in the bath water and wash the dog as you normally do and when you rinse the dog the smell of vinegar will take over the smell the dog had on it but lemon juice fresh and clean.
