First rinse suit in plain water. Then Soak the suit in a solution of baking soda, water and white vinegar for an hour. Then wash the suit by hand with a mild detergent. Do not use ammonia in the wash water. It may react with the chlorine from the swimming pool.

Peroxide is an efficient fabric whitener and is safe for a multitude of fabrics. A quarter cup of vinegar with enough water to submerge the suit should be good, add more as needed However, for more delicate materials a solution of white vinegar and baking soda with water may be useful.
