The best way to get rid of brown spots that are caused by dog urine is to use a high nitrogen fertilizer and then over-seed in that area. It is important to continue to water and keep the area clear of foot traffic to ensure the coloring returns to normal.

You can not get rid of those ugly brown spots thats where the grass has died. In order to remedy this problem you need to dig up the grass replant new and fertilize. Then keep your dog from urinating in those spots repeditly. Other then that your stuck with ugly grass.

There is a product you can purchase at pet stores that will fix it with some type of natural borne bacteria that helps to fix this problem. You can also train your dog to urinate in different areas, such as the woods which would stop the problem at the root cause.

First, you need to keep the dog off your lawn. That can be done by sprinkling regular chili pepper powder around the perimeter of the lawn every few days. Then you can throw a bit of top soil down on the spots, and re-seed.

The brown spots are caused by the pH balance in a dog's urine. If it's your dog that's doing it, you can try to change their diet. If it's someone else dog, the best thing to do is water your lawn as much as possible to water down the dog urine.

Keep the dog off the lawn. Give the brown spot a large amount of water. Add a small amount of baking soda to counteract the ammonia in the urine.

Water the area well after your pet urinates, this will keep the brown spots from forming. If brown spots are already there, re-sod the damaged spots.
