You're going to need a pair of gloves, ascrub brush, and a strong cleaning solutions Flush the toulet a couple of times. Then add some cleaners and flush it again. Next, add some more cleaner and start to scrub the toilet. If you have a high quality cleaner, the smell should wash out.

Start with a mix of warm soapy water and make sure it spreads throughout the bowl. Scrub with a strong brush.

The best way would be to get a professional estimate and advice. If the professional can do it for a reasonable fee, than go with that.

I'm afraid you're just going to have to get in there and clean that thing. They're the worst for lingering smells. Just make sure that you clean all the parts which are labelled as important or you'll have wasted your time. You might want to get some air spray as well.

the cassette seal had leaked and allowed liquids to go into the wet box that the cassette sits in. then you find out what had gone wrong and try to get rid of the smell which seemed to be getting worse that is they were sat on carpet, then the smell was unbelievable. so a loo that is not water tight.
