To start out as a model build your portfolio and show it to some modeling agencies. You can join a agency some are online and work as an extra then try for better parts. Going to drama school helps as you get training and help to get parts.

Tehre are a bunch of talent agencies out there try to get yourself one. Be wary though lots of scams are out there that will take money for no reward.

I would take lessons. Whenever a movie is being filmed in your city look up the casting director and ask if they need any extras. Once you get a job you get to know people. Where I live there is a facebook group that lets us know who needs extras.
