Check with your local college or technical center to find out when the LPN program starts. Pass the entrance exams for the class. You will also be required to pass a background check. After completion of the course you must pass the N-CLEX-PN exam.

The laws are a little different in every state, but usually it involves passing an approved Licensed Practical Nursing course, and then passing the state licensure LPN exam. You should be able to get the specific information for the state where you want to work from the state's licensing agency.

You must attain a set amount of school and clinical hours set by the state in which you are wantingto practice. Then take the Nclex.
