RN's make more money how much more depends on where and who you work for. Both nurses are highly important some LPN's do an RN's job.

This varies GREATLY depending on what state you live in and where you work. For example an LPN in Massachusetts makes an average of $25 an hour an RN$32.

in most hospitals the Rn rate of pay is at least twice that of the lpn. Rn's assume more responsibility as well as supervisory roles. The education is similar.

LPNs can make several dollars less per hour than an RN due to the certification, training, and education that the RN has already gone through. LPNs typically strive to continue their education to become an RN, as RNs have a much higher ability to "move up".
