How do I get a junior hunting license in California?

In order to obtain a Junior Hunting License one must be under the age of 16 and must submit a valid certificate of completion from an California State approved hunter education course. This certificate can be from any state. The license can be purchased from most Licensed Agents and/ or Department of Fish and Game Hunting.

You must be less than 16 years old on July 1st. The cost is $10. 75 and you need to go to a Authorized License Agent to apply.

Try the California Department of Fish & Game. As a junior hunter, he or she will need to bring proof that they completed a hunter's education course. An expired hunting license will also work.
