Automotive stores like NAPA or AutoZone generally carry additives that you can poor into the gear oil reservoir. They might be crystals or a thick liquid. These additives stop minor leaks around seals and help lubricate the components although they are generally used as temporary repairs only and not meant as a permanent fix.

It is very dangerous that a steering gear seal leaks. This may lead even to steering failure. It can be replaced by removing the steering wheel carefully by unscrewing the center bolt holding the steering wheel. Then the seal can be replaced and lubricant should be applied inorder to avoid friction.
