Make sure the pressure gauge is functioning correctly. Next verify the level of oil. If all pans out and you still have a problem take it to a mechanic.

To fix this check the pressure with an external gauge, and compare it to your dash reading; connect the gauge to where the sender switch is, if the gauge reads high; you will need a new pressure sensor switch. Once you replace the sensor the high pressure problem will be solved.

Usually high oil pressure in Dodge models is caused by too much air in the oil hoses. You'll have to drain the oil and bleed the hoses.

First, verify that the oil pressure is actually high by unscrewing the sensor and installing a temporary manual gauge. If the pressure IS high: change the oil and filter using a lower viscosity oil. Let the oil clean the engine for several miles and use your regular oil after that.

You must get another tool in which to find out what the correct pressure is. I would just take the old sensor out and replace. If your valve is leaking gas then you are going to want to replace it as soon as possible. You can locate the valve under the hood and right near the motor.

I would obtain a Haynes repair manual for my year dodge and type to research what may be causing the problem. The water pump could be bad or it could possibly be a tube is broke.

Check to make sure that your oil pressure sending unit isnt bad first before going any further into fixing the problem. If thats not the problem then get your oil pump checked out.

You may simply have a bad sensor or are using the wrong viscosity oil for your application. Check to make sure these are not the problem. If these check out, the oil pressure relief check valve in your engine oil pump may be sticking. This will require replacment of the oil pump.
