How do I finger notes on a trumpet?

Place your index finger on the first valve, the middle finger on the second valve, and ring finger on the third valve. You then use finger combos to produce notes.

Notes on a trumpet are fingered by pressing down on the three main keys located near the top of the instrument. As you blow through the mouthpiece, you will need to depress the correct keys in order to make the notes; the keys depend on the note you are trying to produce.

Fingering notes on the trumpet uses the three valves located on the top of the instrument. Middle C is played open (no valves), D is played 1,3 valves, E is played 1-2, F is played 1st valve, G is open, A is 1-2, b natural is 2nd, and C is open again. Flats and sharps are left out of fingerings.

C just below the staff is no valves down (open), C# is all three, D is first and third, Eb is second and third, E is first and second, F is first, F# is second, G is open, Ab is second and third, A is first and second, Bb is first, B is second, and C is open.

With pressing the different valves according to which note you want to play. Multiple notes can be played, how fast or slow your air goes determines pitch.
