How do I do a diamond design with roof shingles?

Start at the bottom edge of the roof laying shingles at 45 degree angles. Work from one side to the other in complete rows to the peak of the roof useing roofing nails to fasten each shingle. Then trim all overhanging edges. Now put row across peak to seal peak.

Well it is done similar to a normal roof however you do it with special shaped shingles. You just lay then out according to a predetermined pattern to achieve the desired look.

Diamond designs on shingles normally come precut in this shape. You could theoretically cut them in this shape, but that would be time-consuming.
