You need to check with your service to see if this can be done without a charge. While in Mexico I had to call the phone service and set up for calling and receiving from Mexico. There was a charge. So in the group that went only one person bought the service.

You can call a person outside of the us by adding a + and their two digit country code before the phone number that you are trying to call. You can find a list of two digit country codes through Google.

In order to dial internationally from a US cell phone you must listen for the dial tone, dial 011, and then dial the international country code you are calling. After these first steps then dial the area code or city code you are calling along with the local phone number.

It is very simple and easy to dial long distance. The only thing you have to do is dial the number 1 then the area code and then the phone number.

Make sure your phone has international calling activated. Dial "+ 011" to signal inernational call, then the country code. If you dont know the country code you can look it up on googe, then the number that you want to call.
