I would recommend buying a multimeter and a repair manual. Then begin to troubleshoot the affected area until you find the issue. Typically you will just have to measure voltage or resistance across various components and sensors.

The best way is to take it to a auto zone, Murrys auto ect... If you have one in your area. They will plus your car into a PC and let you know what issues it has. If you cant do that a Diagnose tool will fun you 150 or so.

Hook an OBD2 unit to the car. This will provide you with a read out of whatever electrical issues the vehicle may be experiencing at that time. Often auto parts stores offer this service free of charge to anyone in need.
