Betta fish need a varied diet. Alternate the food schedule; one day feed flakes in the morning and pellets at night. The next day make it brine shrimp or other. Take food away for a day and then feed it a tiny bit of a cooked, peeled pea. Remember their stomach is about the size of its eyeball!

To cure a betta fish that is constipated the best thing to do is fast your fish. the reason this works is the normal cause of constipation in fish is that they are overfed and so they can not get their systen ckeaned. After fasting for 1-2 days then you should start to feed the betta fish again.

Your Betta may look constipated but I assure you it is not. It could be fat or if it is female. It could be pregnant. If it is a male and just recently looked bloated it could just be sick.

First allow the betta to fast for 2-5 days. When the swelling goes down, feed the betta peas. Remember to mash the peas for the fish.

Well what I've hard is that you should make the fish fast for about 4 days so that the stomach purges and slowly it will take care of itself and it's cured.
