How do I cook asparagus?

I don't want it to get too mushy.

You will need to wash the spears in cool water and remove any dirt from them. Then bend them near the end to snap off the woody bottoms. Boil the spears in a small amount of boiling salted water in a large wide skillet for 3-5 minutes. Run cool water over the spears. This will stop the cooking.

I roast asparagus in the oven. I drizzle it with a little olive oil, salt and pepper and put it in at 400 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.
