Remove the Freon gas & make system empty, then remove the compressor, Then remove the clutch assembly. Remove the dirt from threads ,remove the shaft seal. Remove from the housing. remove the seal. Clean the area where the seal goes and install the new one. install the clutch with proper air gap. Not to lose the oil from the compressor.

Let the engine cool completely before changing.Disconnect the battery terminal, starting with the negative charge first. You need to get the compressor as clutch is located within the compressor and then use a refrigerant recovery machine to recover a chemical similar to freon, from the air conditioning system.Disconnect the clutch wire that leads to compressor and replace the whole thing.

Although the air compressor clutch is removable it is very impractical to replace it on its on. Most stores do not even carry just the clutch, and replacing just the clutch requires a special type of puller. It really is best to replace the complete air conditioner compressor, you'll find it's not much different in price.
