Century plant does well in sandy or rocky soil. It is very tolerant of heat conditions. Small plant may be kept in a pot to protect from low temperatures. Maturity is about 8 to 10 years and the plant dies after flowering. Offshoots may be planted to propagate.

These plants must have sandy soil and direct sunlight. They are easily root bound as the root grows straight down so a tall pot is needed. Do not overwater.
