You'll need to map out the area to be fenced first, then calculate how many feet of fencing you'll need. Be sure to account for actual fence posts that are generally installed in the ground every 4-5 feet. Purchase your supplies at a hardware store (be sure to get a fencepost digger) and start building!

Select fencing materials. Dig 8 inch post holes every 3 feet of the fence line to hold the fencing sections. To each hole, add the post (holding post upright and level) and 4 inches of mixed cement. Fill the hole with dirt and pack down tightly to secure the post. Nail or screw the sections of fence to these posts.

you need 7 foot or taller lumber for the supports. you bury them so that only 5 feet is above ground. then nail picket boards to them.

you can find fence pieces at you local home improvement store and they have them at 5 foot lengths that would be the easiest way to build one. just dig holes for your four by fours and then attach the fence sections to them
