How do I become a video game tester?

First you need to be certain you live in a city with a video game company. I would recommend learning a major programming language (C+, C#, etc.) and looking into debugging. Just playing games before they come out usually isn't a full time job and pays very little whereas a debugger would make much more and work full time.
